Currently, this iconic brand has as many as four faces, each of which will choose something suitable for their needs and budget. The history of the Jeep brand dates back to the 40s of the last century. In 1941, the Willys-Overland company began to produce the Willys MB all-terrain vehicle, which was intended for the military. The Jeep trade name was registered only 9 years later. Jeep - what does it mean? The word itself comes from the abbreviation GP, which is developed as General Purpose, so in this case it is about cars for general purposes. It was only after World War II that the first civilian models of the Jeep brand appeared. Who is producing them now? The company belongs to the global concern Stellantis, so some Jeep cars, such as the Renegade, are mainly made in Italy, from where they are imported to the USA.
Jeep Grand Cherokee - an icon of comfort and durability
The Jeep Cherokee appeared in 1974 as the smaller brother of the Wagoneer model, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee only joined the lineup in 1992 and can be said to be the successor to the Grand Wagoneer. For a while, both cars were produced in parallel, but finally the production of the latter ended in 1994. At the end of the 90s in Poland, one could observe a real rash of copies of this car, which became synonymous with prestige and luxury. The vast majority of cars were imported from the United States.
Today, the Grand Cherokee is primarily a luxury SUV, which, of course, can drive into rough terrain, but it also has powerful road versions. Here it is worth mentioning the Trackhawk variant. This is the fastest mass-produced SUV. Under its hood is a 6.2 V8 Hellcat engine with a capacity of as much as 707 hp. The first hundred appears on the speedometer in just 3.7 seconds. The car was produced until 2021. From the outside, it is distinguished by an aggressive, sporty appearance. The suspension was lowered by 2.5 cm compared to the standard versions of the Grand Cherokee model. This makes the ground clearance reduced to 20.6 cm. It also has 20" rims with Pirelli P Zero tires. The 4x4 is additionally equipped with Launch Control, which will give you the perfect start from under the lights.
The most luxurious is the Summit Reserve version. The list of equipment has the volume of a phone book and includes, among others, the highest quality Palermo leather, front seats with electric adjustment, memory, massage, heating and ventilation, four-zone climate control, wooden trim, Off-Road TrailCam camera and night vision, ground clearance adjustable to 27.7 cm, acoustic windows, 4x4 Quadra Drive II drive with electronic differential with limited slip, and the wading depth is up to 61 cm.
How much does a Jeep Grand Cherokee from USA cost? Prices for cars from the year 2021, i.e. the beginning of production of the latest generation, with a 3.6 engine start from approx. 150 thousand PLN after all charges. Cars imported from the USA are of course cheaper than those from the European secondary market and at the same time also better equipped.
Jeep Cherokee from USA was present in the lineup until 2023 and represents a more compact alternative to the Grand Cherokee. The most frequently imported engine variant is the 3.2 V6. The car was built on a floorboard developed by Chrysler and Fiat, which was also used to produce the Dodge Dart and Alfa Romeo Giulietta models. The most adventurous version is the Trailhawk Trail Rated, which has increased ground clearance.
Jeep Renegade - an adventure in an urban edition
The Renegade model was created already during the reign of the concern Stellantis concern. Its name refers to the equipment version of the Willys CJ model. The design is based on the Fiat 500L floorboard, and production takes place in Italy, from where the cars go to the USA. The manufacturer offers two engines here - a 2.4 Tigershark with 180 hp and a turbocharged 1.3 with 177 hp. In 2014-2018, the 1.4 turbo engine with 160 hp was also offered. Cars from USA They cost about 80 thousand PLN for 2022 copies. Jeep Renegade disappeared from the American market in 2023, because it was not as appreciated there as in Europe.
The choice is difficult, because on the one hand we have an economical and dynamic 1.3 engine, and on the other - friendly for LPG installation and a more powerful 2.4 engine. The richest and most luxurious version is the Limited, which has, among other things, leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, automatic dual-zone climate control and the Uconnect 4C multimedia system with an 8.4" screen. The car was also available in limited quantities as a hybrid, but the Americans did not swallow the ecological hook.
Jeep Compass - the art of compromise
The Jeep Compass is a model that avalanches between the world of crossovers and SUVs. It's something between the Renegade and Cherokee models. The model debuted in 2006 as a crossover and over time it was similar in appearance to the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee models. The last generation was presented in 2016 and is built on the basis of the extended Fiat 500X floorboard. Until 2022, Jeep from the USA was available with a 2.4 engine. In 2023, it was withdrawn from sale in favor of a turbocharged 2.0 with a capacity of 200 hp. The 2.0 engine is more modern, more dynamic and economical, and in the USA it is only available with a 4x4 drive. As of 2025, the third generation of the model is on the market and although customers in the United States can buy a car with a hybrid drive, the aforementioned 2.0 with turbocharging remains the leading option.
The richest versions of the equipment are Limited and High Altitude, which have a lot of luxury amenities, as well as a system for selecting the operation of the drive. They have leather upholstery, advanced security systems (e.g. 360 camera, adaptive cruise control, ParkSense parking assistant) and stylistic elements that immediately convey their urban character. For off-road enthusiasts, the Trailhawk version is provided, which has, among others, increased ground clearance from 20.3 to 22.1 cm, red tow hooks, 17" wheels with off-road tires, chassis and drivetrain covers, wading depth increased to 48 cm, additional drive mode - Rock, as well as the Jeep Active Drive Low system with a low gear ratio of 20:1.

Jeep Gladiator - when Jeep Wrangler is not enough
The compact Jeep Wrangler has always been a reference to Willys original car designs. It has a small size and is mainly geared towards driving on rough terrain. However, if you need to transport something really big, the Jeep Gladiator comes to the rescue. For the first time the name appeared in 1962 and referred to a pick-up car. However, then the manufacturer did not have such a fantasy that it would be a pick-up with an emphasis on off-road driving.
The 2018 Jeep Gladiator is a much bolder design. It was created on the basis of the 4th generation of the Wrangler model. It has a longer body and a larger wheelbase than it. The length of more than 5.5 m makes it one of the longest pick-ups on the market. Despite the slightly different nature, the manufacturer left the possibility of dismantling the roof and doors. The ground clearance is 25.3 cm, and the wading depth is as much as 76 cm.
The top version is the Rubicon X, which has leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with electric adjustment in 12 directions, a heated steering wheel and other amenities. At the same time, it has a 4x4 Rock-Track drive with a 4:1 ratio, Tru-Lok locks for front and rear, Selec-Trac system (Auto, Snow, Mud, Rock, Sand modes) and chassis guards. The second interesting version is the Mojave X with Fox 2.5 “suspension, rear differential lock in 4-High mode for fast off-road driving and Off-Road+ mode optimized for fast driving in sandy terrain. As the name implies, the car is used to quickly overcome the desert.
The prices of Gladiator models from the USA start at around PLN 140,000 for the 2021 models. Due to its specificity, the car is not very popular in Poland. However, it is a good choice for those who want to show off or transport something big in rough terrain.
