Alfa Romeo 4C (2014-2020)

The Alfa Romeo 4C saw the light of day as early as 2011, when the concept version appeared at the Geneva Motor Show. In 2013, the premiere of the production version took place. The Alfa Romeo 4C is based on a platform built in the form of a carbon fiber monocoque. In addition, it has aluminum subframes at the front and rear, which increases its rigidity and solidity. Although Alfa Romeo was working on the active suspension, the 4C was primarily intended to be light, so it was equipped with a conventional suspension, and in the Track package it is further lowered by 15 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear. Lowering springs were supplied by the well-known company Eibach. As for the electronics, the car has ABS, EBD, Alfa DNA systems (Dynamic, Natural, All-Weather and Race driving modes in the Track package).

The Alfa Romeo 4C debuted in a coupe version that disappeared in the US in 2018 because it did not meet new federal safety standards. In 2015, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider joined the offer, which has a disassembled targa roof, a reinforced body structure and a weight of 10 kg more.

The Alfa Romeo 4C was assembled by hand and manufactured at Maserati's factory in Modena. A total of 10.5 thousand units were produced, of which about 7 thousand copies were coupes. With the launch, the Launch Edition was introduced, which sold 400 units in Europe, 500 units in North America and 100 in other markets.

The Alfa Romeo 4C did not receive any major facelift, but it had several updates. In 2016, the Alpine audio system was introduced, the Carbon Fiber Trim package introducing carbon fiber inserts into the interior, and the Track package, where in the Alfa Romeo 4C the interior was stripped of carbon fiber elements and a body-colored spoiler was added. In 2017, there was a new Alfa Romeo emblem, new colours (Trofeo White, Vesuvio Grey), an Akrapovic exhaust system with sound adjustment and integration with Alfa DNA, and a carbon fibre roof in the coupe variant. In 2019, a new rear view camera appeared. The Track package disappeared from sale, and its elements were available as single options.

The car was supposed to be light and strong. Therefore, in the Alfa Romeo 4C, the engine has a displacement of 1.75 and is supercharged with a turbocharger, which allows it to generate power at the level of 237 hp. The maximum torque is 350 Nm. The engine was paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car has rear axle drive (RWD). Fuel consumption is from 7 to 10 l per 100 km.

• 4C Spider - equipment from the Coupe and additionally a removable fabric roof, a windshield frame made of carbon fiber, leather upholstery, Alpine audio system with subwoofer.

Several special versions were also produced:

• Launch Edition - equipment from Coupe and additionally a bumper with air intakes, a carbon fiber spoiler, a Track package (lowered suspension, Race mode, larger brakes), carbon fiber inserts, exclusive colors Rosso Alfa and Madreperla White;
• Spider Italia - equipment with Spider and, in addition, Misano Blue Metallic color, special graphic motif of the body, body elements in black gloss, numbered badge inside;
• Spider 33 Stradale Tributo - all with Spider and in addition the color Rosso Villa d'Este, 18" front and 19" rear wheels in gray-gold, two-tone interior, Track package.
